Evviva has carved itself a name for being the best lounge around Bund Garden and surrounding areas. Located on the 8th floor of Crowne Plaza, it has an amazing panoramic view of the city skyline. The interiors are cozy and the lighting theme on the roof gives an impression of a mesmerizing aurora.
Moving onto the food, we started with
1) Chips and Dips [Rs. 350]:
House tortilla chips served with a spinach, artichoke and parmesan dip, a sour cream dip, guacamole dip and homemade salsa. The nachos were crisp and not salty, unlike the ones which are usually available. As for the dips, I liked the spinach and the guacamole dip the most. A must recommend at Evviva.
2) Mini Assorted Bruschetta [Rs. 350]:
Loved the presentation of this one, it was something very unusual and different. 4 mini bruschetta having toppings of tomato and parmesan, guacamole, olives, and mushrooms. I loved mushrooms the most.
3) Twice Cooked Smoked Button Mushrooms [Rs. 350]:
Button Mushrooms having a stuffing of 3 cheese. One of the cheeses used is blue cheese, which might not be as appealing as the regular cheese for everyone. It has a distinct strong taste and odor to it. I was having for the first time and did not find it appetizing much.
4) Italian Chili Cheese Toast [Rs. 350]:
Another dish which had Blue cheese in it. Apart from blue cheese it also had aged mozzarella and cheddar cheese which again have their own distinct flavor and odor. Mostly suitable for those who have acquired a taste for these products.
5) 8th Floor Quesadillas [Rs. 450]:
Tortillas served with a stuffing of beans, bell peppers, mushrooms, and cheese. Served with Guacamole, Sour Cream and Salsa dips, these were a bit on the oily side and tasted just okayish.
6) Tandoori Tulsi Paneer Tikka [Rs. 500]:
Silky cottage cheese cubes marinated with basil, green chilies, and curd. Served with a cheesy basil pesto this one was a pretty decent dish but surely something better than the other dishes.
7) House Cheesecake [Rs. 490]:
Being a huge cheesecake fan I was eagerly looking forward to this one. It is a baked cheesecake and is soft and fluffy and is quite delectable. It was somewhat like a sponge cake.
8) Coffee Caramel [Rs. 490]:
Appearance wise it looked pretty simple and tasted in the similar fashion. Having a strong flavor of coffee I did not find it impressive.
Evviva as a place is very beautiful and the location is an added advantage as it is in one of the central areas of Pune. You can have amazing post work parties and sundowners. As for the food, I feel it is an average affair. I would like to thank Ms. Sannaya Kadam from Carpe Diem for the invite and the staff at Evviva for the superb hospitality.
